Lucy and the Bench Cushion...

Oscar: Lucy, I bet you two dog biscuits you can’t find the plain cheeseburger hidden in that cushion.
Lucy: There is not a plain cheeseburger in there.
Oscar: How sure are you? I’ll bet you three dog biscuits there is a plain cheeseburger hidden in that cushion.
Lucy: Challenge accepted!
Oscar: ooh Lucy, you are going to be in so much trouble! So worth it!
Lucy: Jokes on you! Give me my biscuits!

So basically 1 or 2 or all 3 things will be happening this evening
1-Lucy up all night puking
2- Lucy up all night constipated
3-Middle of the night vet visit
Anybody want to rescue a Saint??? She may need rescuing soon… In her defense I am just so grateful she did not tear into the new chair cushions or the new swing cushion…

Baby Photo and a walk down memory lane
On a hunt for a baby photo for an upcoming young women's activity and came across some old photos I didn't even realize I had!
The second photo is from high school when I was a counselor in Special Needs Mutual. Her name was Cheryl and the only way we could communicate was through sign language and the Spirit. I so loved spending time with her! I wonder where she is today. The next photo looks like it was probably taken that same night at the dance with my best friend Willie Cook! We always had so much fun! Can't believe how young we were!
The last pictures were taken from the volleyball team I was on in 7th grade. I had completely forgotten that I had played volleyball in Texas. I can't believe how long my hair was and look at those bangs! LOL I remember loving that my name was always on the ball! My niece CoCo is going to a volleyball camp this week so I sent these pics to my sister to show her as well.

Happy Fathers Day Curt Howes! For the past 37 years this man, my dad, has spoiled me rotten! He is never far when I need a helping hand, have a question, or need advice. He is and has been an ever constant example of selflessness and dedication in our family. We all lean on him and can’t imagine our lives without him. Thanks Dad! You are loved and appreciated more than you will ever know!

Oscar and Lucy eating routine
So Oscar plays this mind game with Lucy every morning. Until she goes to the wall he won’t he eat his breakfast. If she gets any closer he whines at her. He has trained her well…. It’s so entertaining to watch. They started doing this all in their own. She literally can’t be sitting any further away. She has finished her food by now and is just waiting for him to abandon his bowl so she can swoop in for the crumbs…

My Testimony, Inspirations, and Personal Revelations
Courage and Bravery...
These are scary words, because it means leaving your comfort zone. To me, I am going to try to be brave today and have the courage to share a new blog I have started that includes my testimony, inspirations, experiences, and personal revelations.
When I thought about this blog originally it was going to be password protected and only shared with a few because of the sensitive personal nature of thoughts and feelings that I would be sharing. But as I wrote the first 4 posts, I decided, why bury these experiences under a bushel, what good will that do? I have a testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ, it has brought more joy and peace to my life than anything else, why would I want to just keep that to myself?
I have never kept a personal journal, but am hoping this blog can be a bit of that as I share my new experiences of working a weekly shift in the temple and other things that inspire me on a daily basis of a spiritual nature.
I say bravery and courage, because when you wear your heart on your sleeve like this you are opening yourself up to a lot of scrutiny, criticism, and judgement. Please know I do not think I am perfect. My flaws are on lists miles long. Like you in this mortal existence, I am striving to change for the better, one teeny tiny baby step at a time. As a temple worker, I know I will be held to a higher standard, but I also pray you will understand that I am human too and am going to make mistakes daily. Rome wasn't built in a day and our Savior doesn't expect perfection from any of us overnight. He just asks that we strive for improvement.
I hope this blog will in someway inspire you, comfort you, or bring a smile in the days to come.

TeePee Tower
When it's realized how many applications, your husband's job actually has! Exhibit A- A cold storage closet that houses a ridiculous amount of toilet paper and emergency preparedness supplies. At some point this toilet paper tower toppled over along with a large plastic bin of supplies preventing the door from opening. Upon discovering this situation the following conversation ensued:
"Hen! We have a problem!" "I can't open the door to the cold storage because everything fell and is blocking it from opening."
Henry Joseph Becker IV 's response
"Oh that is just like when the baggage isn't secured on the plane and we can't open the cargo door."
You better bet he had that door opened up in no time! This is the finished product of a slightly more organized toilet paper tower...

Latest Project Car
When you get a text earlier in the day that says “I love you Karebear!” from your spouse… I should have known better that he was up to something. Come home to a gentlemen in my driveway who proceeds to tell me he got the $300 in cash from under the doormat and there is a title in the mailbox! You are so busted Henry Joseph Becker IV!!! Like you have the time right now for a project car!!! I bet you would have stashed it at the storage facility if I hadn’t found out… might want to do a better job next time covering your tracks!

A Bar of Iron
I love this! I didn’t get the best grades. I am a terrible test taker. Tried to drop out of high school (my parents wouldn’t let me), but I did end up graduating a semester early (just to get out of there), only got a 21 on my ACT, graduated with like a 3.2 from USU. Based on those stats alone, no one could have guessed my career path, especially me. But here I am, 20 years post high school and 16 years post college with an awesome job, at an even more awesome company. Turns out hard work and on the job experience were my strengths more than regurgitation for exams. So don’t stress if you aren’t a straight A student. You can still go places! The trick is to find what you love and then not be afraid to work hard. It will pay off!

Lucy Golf Cart 'n'
Busted! Lucy snuck out on a golf cart ride after her brothers went to their grooming appointments this morning... I’m sure that will be discussed in their pack meeting later today...

Lucy: Um Hello! How can we not discuss this new patio fencing mom and dad put in? How am I supposed to monitor the street for kids, walkers, dogs, and deer??
Oscar: Ya tell me about it! And motorcycles!! And skateboards!
Lucy: And what about these new patio chairs? Those cushions are so thick, I bet they would be a tasty snack! You don’t think they would notice if I just nibbled on a corner do you?
Charlie: 💤💤💤
Lucy: Oscar, I told you we can’t have these meetings at 4 in the afternoon during Charlie’s nap time....
Oscar: By my calculations bath day will be any day now and mom closed her thumb in the car door taking me out last time, kind of felt bad about that. And the time before that Charlie and I locked ourselves in the puptaxi for a solid 10 minutes... Here’s hoping for a less eventful grooming day, knock on wood.
Lucy: We need to discuss the ac vent situation. I keep waking up in the middle of the night panting because, somebody, cough cough, Charlie, keeps laying over the only vent in the room and bogarting all of the cold air!
Charlie: 💤💤💤
Lucy: On a side note, wasn’t that crazy when mom tripped over the dog beds the other night and face planted hard? Hilarious! Wish we had that on video! Man is she clumsy! No wonder she drives dad crazy!
Oscar: LOL. Ya that was funny!
I think it’s safe to say that the official Templeton (rat) count is down to zero! Thanks to our heroic efforts!
Charlie: ya and the fact that mom and dad got rid of the bird feeders....
