Ahh Summertime...

So clearly I am very behind.... I haven't felt the best lately so my blog has taken the back seat, well that and my brother in law, who remains nameless...cough cough Tigger... has got me hooked on Farmville, a quaint little game you can play on facebook which is unfortunately the closest I will ever get to farming in real life....There are those of you who would laugh, ney mock my new addiction, but I would not knock it until you have tried it! I am not alone in my new pass the time hobby, my always young 3rd grade teacher the fabulous Mrs. Louise Smith frequents the game as well as my husband Hen and roommate Chase. So I know I am not completely crazy....no peanut gallery comments needed :)

So let's see what have I left out.... Ahh Bear Lake.... So one Saturday Hen and I decided to rent a boat at Bear Lake for a couple of hours and enjoy the summer weather. Well since I am a gluten for punishment on the way back to the shore from the boat I dropped our camera, my cell phone, and our car keys in the lake! This is sooo not my year!!! Upon retrieving these items the camera was destroyed (but luckily not the memory card), my phone now only works when it feels like it, and I never did find our keys that day.

So you may wonder how does a person drive home from Bear Lake when their keys are in the lake? Well they call a local tow truck service to come and break you into your car which luckily contained a spare key in the center console.

Now my whole life has been blessed with the power of prayer. If ever I have lost something and really needed to find it, I have always found it especially in the most outrageous of circumstances. So of course this would have been one of those days. Henry and I prayed our hearts out that we would find the keys to the car, but the Lord has his own time table. So we did not find the keys that day.

Fast forward almost a week later and I had taken breakfast to Henry at work one morning. While we were sitting in the car his phone rang.

"Hi this is Performance Rental, are you the individual who lost their car keys last Saturday with a Bear World keychain attached to it? Well someone found them in the water so you are welcome to come pick them up anytime."

So like I said our prayers were answered, just maybe not in the time that was most convenient for us but one thing I have learned is that you never know why things happen, and everything happens for a reason even if we never know what that reason is.

I do have to share with you a couple of other instances that has happened to me because I really am soo clumsy and I really would lose my head if it weren't for the power of prayer.

When I was in the second grade living in Kingwood, Tx I had a sterling silver charm bracelet that I usually only wore on special occasions but for some reason I had worn it to school this one day. I had been collecting charms on it, which I am sure were all purchased by my mom and dad. There was everything from a violin to a heart, to a pumpkin, and a snowman. Well this snowman charm happened to be my favorite and one day at recess it had come off of my charm bracelet. I hadn't noticed it until I had gone back into class that day. I was so sad that night, I prayed that I might find it. Sure enough that next day I was sitting on a swing at recess, when a little boy who I had never met came up to me and said is this yours? As I looked down at the snowman charm in his hand I asked him, where did you find it? He told me it was in the sandbox. This is probably one of the earliest memories of my testimony being strengthened. It was definitely something I would never forget.

Since that time I have lost and found the following by the power of prayer, a ring in a high school parking lot and a watch that had fallen underneath a washingmachine to name a few, the list goes on and on.

So while I was frustrated that I could not find our car keys at Bear Lake that day, sure enough they were found amongst all the sand and water by someone else....

Here are some pictures from that day before I decided to drop everything we had valuable in the Lake.....
