Time to get prepared

I have been working on our 72 hour kit this morning for if we would have to leave our home in an emergency. And realizing that we need 1 gallon of water per day for each person, which equates to 15 gallons of water for 3 days for our family of 5. (And yes you should be factoring your pets into all of your planning)

Have you thought about that number for your own family? I encourage all of us to take the time to make sure we have all of these items ready to grab and stuff in the car at a moments notice. Below is a great checklist as a starting point.

Earthquake

Wow! Being woke up by that earthquake was so crazy!! It was a 5.7 magnitude earthquake. I was asleep and it woke me up out of bed. Hen was awake and laying in bed when it happened. So grateful we didn't have any damage.

1st quake footage, don’t mind the dust and if you zoom in you can see the chandelier swinging. We did have one picture break that fell off our our bakers rack in the living room.

Becker Crew Isolation

Becker crew social isolation log- Day 4- “Do you think we will ever leave the house again?" “Only time will tell....only time will tell...”

Happy St. Patty's Day 2020

Beautiful Poem I found

“And the people stayed home. And read books, and listened, and rested, and exercised, and made art, and played games, and learned new ways of being, and were still. And listened more deeply. Some meditated, some prayed, some danced. Some met their shadows. And the people began to think differently.

And the people healed. And, in the absence of people living in ignorant, dangerous, mindless, and heartless ways, the earth began to heal.

And when the danger passed, and the people joined together again, they grieved their losses, and made new choices, and dreamed new images, and created new ways to live and heal the earth fully, as they had been healed."

Miracles

Words can’t express the gratitude I have for tender mercies today. Miracle 1-First we felt prompted to come home a day early and were able to get on standby on a full flight home. Especially with the state of things, who knows if they will start closing down airports. 2nd Miracle- After Lily passed, you can imagine our anxiety to board our dogs while we were gone but all three did really well. Ginormous Miracle 3- on the way home from boarding I had put one of the back windows down too far in the back of the pup taxi and literally not even 3 houses away from our house Lucy lept out of our moving car and rolled. I stopped the car and jumped out. And when I ran to her she was limping and crying. My worst fears were being realized. I picked her up and took her to the grass. She rolled on her back for me to rub her tummy. I was terrified she had broken something. I managed to get her in the car and drove home. Hen took the boys and I raced Lucy to the ER in Layton. After a thorough exam they determined she had no broken bones or internal bleeding. She is definitely going to be sore but she could have been so much worse. Obviously I was absolutely sick to my stomach until the exam was over. As I looked back on that event it is a miracle that not only did she not break anything, but that she wasn’t hit by another car or rolled under our car. And we both could have been hit by a car when I went to pick her up because I was thinking only of rescuing her. So grateful for answered prayers and tender mercies from our Heavenly Father. Miracles happen every day, we just have to recognize them.

Quick Trip to Vegas

After flying into Vegas this was our first encounter...
We had some Hilton points to use so we found this Hilton that was way out in Henderson. When we woke up the first morning this was our view from our room. So beautiful.
What's so crazy about this trip is that on Sunday we found a ward to attend sacrament meeting. We had no idea that would be the last time we attended church until July of this year.

Found this in the gift shop, thought it was fitting. I don't mind if I do!

So much fun! #crazytourguide #gratefulididntthrowup #thanksfordrivinghen

Always grateful that our dogs are taken care of at the Utah Dog Park when we travel.
