Poor Charlie

Our poor handsome boy. Now on the mend. After ct scans and rhinoscopy it was determined that it is a skin issue, possibly infection, possibly tumor. Will know in a week what pathology comes back with.

MOM!!! Oscars in my chair!!! Make him get out! I feel like crap as it is! If I can’t fit in it with this tire, then nobody can sit in it!

Puppaw!

We love our Charlie! Except he really doesn’t have selective hearing. He is fiercely loyal and comes the second he is called. His is our perfect child! Nicknamed puppaw or perfect puppaw. Goldens are such a special breed. Our vet (Pam Nichols ❤️) back in October 2015 told us there was a dog she was trying to find a home for and thought of us. We had Lily and Jade at the time and we had never had three dogs at the same time before. They sent us this picture and our hearts melted! 1 1/2 year old “Zeke” was destined for our family. I went to meet him at the vet to see if I should bring him home. I walked into the reception area where there were about ten people with their dogs. I stood in the back waiting my turn to be helped. Out poked “Zekes” head from behind the reception desk. He was off leash and had just been hanging out back there. He looked up at the crowd and our eyes met. He came running straight to me out of all those people. I said to him, “you are coming home with me aren’t you?” After getting Charlie home, we quickly learned that goldens are puppy minded until they are about 3 years old. So he ended up in daycare a few times a week to give his older sisters a break. He chewed shoes and remotes, and our chair. But he kept the girls young too. He would play tug with Jade and he was always conscious of how hard he pulled because she didn’t have as strong a mouth as him, he would pull softer with her just so she could play. Charlie will be 7 years old next month. He has now lived with us over 5 years. He is the only one to have lived with 4 siblings. He is the smartest dog we have ever had by far. He even finds scents better than Oscar believe it or not. Charlie these days can do no wrong. The only drawback to Goldens is that they shed 365 days a year. He sheds more than probably all of the other dogs combined believe or not. But such a small price to pay for the joy he brings to our family. Especially with how hard Oscar and Lucy have been. This blog post is from after we first brought him home. He was accepted by the girls immediately and would snuggle with Jade especially.

Time for Breakfast

In the words of Timon from the original Lion King:

“Let me in! Let me in!”

I just can’t with this group! Always afraid they are going to miss something!

Yearbook Reminiscing

After an old friend from middle school messaged me on facebook, I took a few walks down memory lane.

This was my 8th grade picture.  The last year I had bangs, thankfully!

In contrast, my senior photo-Definitely an improvement-although, I don't know why my smile looks so big...

Found this note in my high school yearbook on the kid photo page. Thanks Curt Howes and DeLana! This year marks 20 years since I graduated high school... time flies when you are getting old...lol!

Came across this ridiculous photo from swim team in my Sophmore yearbook. Who in their right mind thought this was yearbook worthy lol! I’m dying, anyone else have a random picture stuck in their yearbooks?

The Goosiest of all Lucy's

What a difference a year makes... 4 months old in pic on left and almost 16 months old today.❤️🐾🐾❤️

January Book Case Decor

 January Book Case Decor

This post is more for me, than for you :)

Happy New Year

Took a minute to find this post from 2017, but I remember it being one of my favorites! Every day, month, year is what we make of it. Although it may be easy to find all the bad, I think you may be surprised to find that the good outweighs the bad. As I reflected on 2020 last night only countless blessings came to mind. Our health, our home, our safety, our jobs, our fur kids, our family, our friends. We survived 2020 just like you did. Why? Because we are all stronger than we realize and because we are loved and cared for by so many on earth and in heaven. I don’t know what 2021 will bring, in fact in some ways it could be worse than 2020, but I have faith that it will all work out and that we will learn something from the struggle. Hoping for more hugs in 2021. I miss hugs.

Why so optimistic about 2021? What do you think it will bring?

It will bring flowers

Yes? How come?

Because I am planting flowers
