Christmas Time

 On this Christmas Sunday, I am so humbled and grateful to have been able to attend a beautiful, spirit filled, Christmas program at our ward this morning. I couldn't help as I looked around at all wearing masks and all that has been taken from us this year. This reminded me of the Who from Whoville singing around the Christmas tree in Whoville after they had discovered the Grinch had taken all of their presents. While we only listened to the wonderful music today instead of singing, I could feel the spirit fill the room from the hearts of all those present and those unseen. I am so grateful that we have a time of year that we celebrate the birth of our Savior, who was born for us, atoned for us, and died for us so that we might live with him and our Father in Heaven again. How blessed we all are! O Holy Night has become one of my most favorite Christmas Hymns. I hope as you read these words or hear this song this Christmas season you will also feel the sweet Spirit of Christmas.

O holy night, the stars are brightly shining,

It is the night of the dear Saviour’s birth;

Long lay the world in sin and error pining,

'Till he appeared and the soul felt its worth.

A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices,

For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn;

Chorus

Fall on your knees, Oh hear the angel voices!

O night divine! O night when Christ was born.

O night, O holy night, O night divine.

Led by the light of Faith serenely beaming;

With glowing hearts by his cradle we stand:

So, led by light of a star sweetly gleaming,

Here come the wise men from Orient land,

The King of Kings lay thus in lowly manger,

In all our trials born to be our friend;

Chorus

He knows our need, To our weakness no stranger!

Behold your King! Before Him lowly bend!

Behold your King! your King! before him bend!

Truly He taught us to love one another;

His law is Love and His gospel is Peace;

Chains shall he break, for the slave is our brother,

And in his name all oppression shall cease,

Sweet hymns of joy in grateful Chorus raise we;

Let all within us praise his Holy name!

Chorus

Christ is the Lord, then ever! ever praise we!

His pow'r and glory, evermore proclaim!

His pow'r and glory, evermore proclaim!
